The Cliffs of Moher - Co Clare
On the Wild Atlantic Way, the world-famous Cliffs of Moher are Ireland’s most visited natural attraction, and on arrival at this majestic site, it is easy to see why. Prepare yourself for their breathtaking vastness and hear the roar of the Atlantic Ocean thundering up from below.
Extending 8km along the North Clare coastline and reaching 214metres at their highest point, visitors are treated to awe-inspiring scenery, stunning views, and exhilarating walking trails. Having featured in classic movies like The Princess Bride and Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, you may even have seen them before.
Being a specially protected area for seabirds, with over 30 species represented, binoculars are a good idea if you want to do some birdwatching and make sure to keep an eye out for the famous Puffins.
There is an informative visitor centre nestled snugly in the hillside, where you can learn more about the history and geology of the area, two cafes, and craft and gift shops to enjoy.
